If you’re in a season of looking for a job—or wondering what’s next—you’re not alone.
It can be one of the most uncertain and emotionally draining experiences. Questions about provision, purpose, and even your identity can start to surface.
This is exactly why I created this set of affirmations.
Not as a way to “make” something happen…
but as a way to anchor yourself in truth while you take steps forward.
Below this video, you’ll find the biblical foundations behind the affirmations in this video.
1. Identity Comes First
Before anything changes externally, we come back to what is unchanging.
- “So God created mankind in his own image…” — Genesis 1:27
- “Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered…” — Luke 12:7
- “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast…? I will not forget you!” — Isaiah 49:15–16
Your worth is not defined by your employment status.
It is rooted in being created and known by God.
2. Trusting God’s Provision
In times of uncertainty, it’s easy to feel like everything depends on you.
But Scripture reminds us that God is present and aware of our needs.
- “Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.” — Matthew 6:8
- “Trust in the Lord with all your heart…” — Proverbs 3:5–6
- “For we live by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7
Trust doesn’t mean doing nothing.
It means moving forward without carrying the weight of the outcome alone.
3. Taking Action with Faith
Faith and action are not opposites—they work together.
- “Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God will be with you.” — Joshua 1:9
- “Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” — James 2:17
- “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others…” — 1 Peter 4:10
You don’t have to wait for perfect clarity to begin.
Take the next step. Use what you’ve been given.
4. Peace in the Process
The job search can bring anxiety about the future.
But peace is available—even before anything changes.
- “Do not be anxious about anything…” — Philippians 4:6–7
- “Do not worry about tomorrow…” — Matthew 6:34
- “He has made everything beautiful in its time.” — Ecclesiastes 3:11
You are allowed to experience peace right now—
not just when everything falls into place.
A Closing Thought
This isn’t about trying to control the outcome.
It’s about who you are becoming in the process.
As you continue your search:
- Stay grounded in your identity
- Trust that God is with you
- Take meaningful steps forward
- And allow peace to meet you where you are
You are not alone in this.
